My Work

Wedding Jewellery for the Bride to be!

My brief here was to design an unusual armband. My client liked the look of the woven wire I had on another item, so we decided to use it in the design. It's made entirely out of sterling silver.

The clasp was designed using coloured glass set into sterling silver - the glass really catches the light and provides a cool addition.

Next were matching earrings. My client wanted something that would give lots of movement, but also wanted the earrings to match the armband. I came up with  the idea of "articulating" the woven wire pieces and designed ear hooks to match the clasp fitting.

Tiger Eye Necklace with Earrings

The aim here was to design a pair of earrings to match the existing necklace. The customer wanted dangly ones and here's the end result. These were a Christmas present for his wife and he liked the earrings very much.

Netted Wire Bracelet with Czech Beads

This piece was an experiment in wire crochet. Very hard on the fingers, but I think the end result is excellent!  It was also an excercise in photography for me too. I was trying to make the picture interesting whilst enhancing the piece at the same time.

Crochet wire watch with Czech Beads

In the same vein as the above bracelet, I decided it would be an interesting and unusual idea to add a watch to the crochet wire cuff bracelet. This piece is so comfortable to wear and has generated a lot of interest.

Sterling Silver Swirly Dangly Earrings

Here, the aim was to create an unusual pair of earrings that had a lot of movement to them. I love the swirly shape, it's one of my favourites to work with and hence this design came to mind. Being made of sterling silver they are incredibly light and functional - a pleasure to wear.

The Making of "The Song of the Siren"

This was a competition entry for a freeform wirework bracelet with beads. Coming from two generations of seafarers, the sea is in my blood and I love all things nautical, hence the title of the bracelet. Images of fish and colours of blue came to mind when I designed this piece. Unfortunately my entry was "disqualified" due to the fact that I have a habit of soldering parts of my work to ensure strength. Unbeknown to me, soldering was a no no in this competition! However the judge did tell me that it was a great design.

Supersize me Earrings

I was in an experimental mood again when I created these beauties. I particularly liked the beads and thought for ages what I could do with them. I'm a big fan of dangly earrings, as you've probably noticed if you've looked at the earrings page! So, I decided to make an enormous and eyecatching pair of earrings. These babies didn't take long to sell - my customer absolutely loved them at first sight.
