Feral Designs is owned & operated by me, Jewellery Artist/Designer Fiona Williams and my alter ego Feralwoman, from a workshop located in The Dandenong Ranges.
I find my inspiration from my surroundings and my background. I come from two generations of seafarers, and coming originally from the UK, the sea is in my blood. This is reflected in some of my designs which have a subtle nautical theme and appearance. There are usually some sort of fishy beads in my designs and I just love different shades of blue.
I am lucky to live in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. The view out of my workshop is truly awesome. I can see Port Phillip Bay on a clear day and there is always some form of wildlife around in the garden, be it a lost fox or some beautifully coloured birds. Nature is truly wonderful. Feralwoman loves it too. It is pure inspiration!
My Mission
My aim is to provide affordable, yet beautiful and unusual jewellery designs that are well made and totally unique as well as being wearable. Hopefully creating something that will be much loved and treasured. I also provide a custom design service where I can be really creative - matching the piece to the wearer's personality. This is a truly enjoyable part of my work.
Company History
Feral Designs is now over one year old, being launched in November 2006. I have been making jewellery way before the site existed. I find it relaxing and totally fun. Selling at markets is something that Feral still does, she finds it enjoyable despite the early morning starts and the bad weather! Me, I'd personally rather stay in bed!
Find Me At
Feralwoman can be found every Saturday and Sunday at The Gully Market in Upper Ferntree Gully (opposite the Royal Hotel). If you're in the area, look for the tent with the blue roof and flying the "Jolly Roger," and pop in for a chat and a look around! Feral might look a bit scary with her weird headwear, but she's very nice really... honest!
Saturday: Feral has semiprecious stones, mineral specimens and fantastic crystals.
Sunday: In addition to the above, Feral also brings along a selection of her handcrafted jewellery.
